CoE Test Lead, Amsterdam area

GrandVision launched a Global SAP program in 2014. The program delivered a future proof and global SAP platform which is scalable and capable of housing new global capabilities to master the growing complexity of our supply chain and to leverage global scale for local benefit. The SAP solution is now live in the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Chile.

GrandVision Group IT runs a global SAP Center of Excellence (CoE) based in Schiphol (The Netherlands). This center supports further roll outs, operations and improvements in the SAP application landscape of Grandvision and manages the change management process. The project development & application support is outsourced to partners. The test lead is the leader of the virtual and distributed testing team responsible for the quality and stability of supported solutions. The test lead is also accountable for test strategy and execution. He/she also has a pivotal role in maintaining relations with local test managers and testers in countries running SAP and with 3rd party vendors. The test lead participates in projects like country roll-in’s and technical upgrades as well as ongoing support. He/ she is also responsible for championing improvements to test strategy and execution. The test lead is the ‘go-to’ person for the COE and business for questions about test scope, coverage and execution.

Essential functions

  • Liaise with the local change/ test managers and key user/ testers in operating companies and maintain the relationship;
  • Support local change/ test managers in scoping User Acceptance and Regression Testing;
  • Co-ordinate regression testing across countries and business units;
  • Play role of test manager in COE projects;
  • Identify potential improvements in test practice in all phases of the development life-cycle;
  • Be an influencer and guardian of the COE test strategy;
  • Drive and assess quality of test practice by external partners;
  • Educate and empower business area experts with the required knowledge and skills to conduct testing independently;
  • Back-up the COE change managers.

Skills & Requirements

  • Educated to Bachelor level;
  • At least five years of SAP test and change management experience in complex SAP(-Retail) implementations including experience with testing middleware and interfaces;
  • Functional knowledge of supply chain models and warehouse processes in a retail or wholesale environment is an advantage;
  • Proven capability to manage resolution of complex problems;
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Experienced in working within an international environment with large SI with on-shore and off shore delivery;
  • Affinity for technology and tools;
  • Willing to travel internationally (app 10%)
