Due to continuous growth, our internationally diverse Retail Development team is looking for a Senior Frontend Developer. Working with the latest cutting-edged tools, they are set on delivering the best services to all our stores. Responsibilities

As a Senior Frontend Developer, you apply the knowledge you have previously gained in developing for GrandVision’s Retail Development and our global customers in our 7000+ stores. You are able to explain your technical vision in a comprehensible language which both the team and the client will effortlessly understand. Our junior and medior developers see you as the go to person when it comes to any technical questions. Also, you will be able to work with the latest (web)technologies and which enables you to the challenge and improve our Optical retail business with your great ideas and frontend solutions.

The role:

  • As we work in an international environment, good understanding and knowledge of and write fluent English.
  • HTML 5, CSS, Javascript and or Typescript experience is a plus.
  • Have experience with various JavaScript MVC frameworks, such as React.js, Vue.js and JS design patterns.
  • You commonly use Gulp, Grunt and/or Webpack in your projects.
  • Are able to translate creative ideas and mockups into interactive prototypes.
  • Able to translate requirements and mockups into fully functioning features.
  • Test and ensure the applications are rendered and functional correctly on all the devices and browsers.
  • Design and pilot prototype applications where required.
  • You have experience in working with Docker & Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Stay up to date with trends and technological advancements in web development. Learn and test new technologies, frameworks, and languages as relevant.

Key skills, knowledge and experience

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimal 5+ year of experience in software development.
  • Having experience in using unit testing tools.
  • Having experience with ReactJS is a pré.
  • Having experience with NodeJS is a pré.
  • Having experience with Kubernetes is a pré.
  • Knowledge of HTML 5, Javascript, Typescript and CSS.
  • Knowledge of AJAX, REST API’s and GraphQL.
  • Knowledge and experience in ReactJS.
  • Knowledge and experience in NodeJS is a plus.
  • Experience troubleshooting cross-browser compatibility issues.
  • Experience in source control (Git).
  • Knowledge and Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge and experience in Webpack.
