Global Master Data Officer

The Master Data Officer is part of the GMDO (group master data organization) responsible for managing the maintenance of high quality master data in the system, in line with agreed KPIs and with excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

  1. Supporting the team
  • To support the daily operation of master data in critical business scenarios, including but not limited in article, vendor, customer, etc.
  • To improve the overall master data quality in daily basis as well adhere to the Service Level Agreement
  • To identify improvement potential in master data relevant application and processes, such as streamline existed procedures
  • To transfer the deliverables into daily operational model after system go-live, for both project and maintenance release

  1. Supporting the business
  • Understand and manage different business areas and related data management needs in a structural way
  • Provide necessary training to various business stakeholders for any implementation of new feature/update
  • Build and maintain good relationship with local business and other functional departments (e.g.: requestors, local data officers, etc.)
  • Create and maintain master data relevant documentation to ensure the consistency and up-to-date knowledge base

  1. Day to day management of requests and changes
  • Fully understand the data maintenance processes and use this knowledge to effectively manage future system data changes
  • Check and approve master data creation and/or change requests, in line with data quality standards and agreed governance
  • Enter, test and release master data items in the SAP or other related system(s)
  • Efficiently monitor tickets, prioritize and deal/dispatch to achieve fulfilment of KPIs (within data quality standards)
  • Keep regular communication with all interested parties, ensuring that they know the status of pending requests and any related issues
  • Run reports and queries to highlight data quality issues

Key knowledge, experience and skills

  • BSc or MSc from a University or a University of Applied Sciences
  • 1-3 years work experience including internships
  • Experience with a global ERP System is a plus
  • Experience with master data management tool is a plus (for instance Stibo, SAP MDG or SAP 4/HANA, etc.
  • Knowledge of BI analytical tools is appreciated
  • Strong communication skills in writing and speaking English, additional languages will be a plus
  • Self-motivated and proactive in approach to work
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Organizing and prioritizing skills
  • Team player and cooperative
  • Adaptable and flexible in approach
  • Ability to work under pressure/tolerant of stress and frustration
  • Ability to remain firm to standards and governance under pressure to short-cut
  • Openness to continuous learning
