As a Global Store Development Manager, you will significantly contribute to the customer and employee experience of the GrandVision stores as a total for 3D store design. You will closely work with the Store Experience & Retail Concept Manager to lead the implementation of concepts across stores located in more than 30 countries from the very beginning to the end. A position where you can truly think outside the box, bring new ideas to the table, and bring them to life with the ultimate goal of giving the best support to our customers around the world.

Responsibilities

In the role of Global Store Development Manager, you are responsible for:

  • Development of the new store concepts by employing Design Thinking mindset and deeply understanding the customer journeys and connecting the digital and physical world in our stores to solve any pain points on those journeys.
  • Constant scouting: Benchmark/keep up with latest retail trends (off/online) and best practices that can be applicable to our business model.
  • Providing continuous store concept improvements in close collaboration with the suppliers (external) and the Global Retail Concept Manager (internal).
  • Leading the cost and value engineering projects with respect to the TopStore 2.0 concept.
  • Onboarding the retail banners to the standardized Store Concept (Topstore 2.0”) to achieve consistency of customer and employee experience and leverage economies of scale. You will formulate, organize and monitor multiple projects at the same time.
  • Supporting the (re)building store projects all over the world and work with local & global cross functional teams.
  • Managing Digital Store initiatives such as In Store Analytics pilots, installation of digital & connected screens etc.
  • Giving advice to relevant local stakeholders about the preparation, planning, and activities related to (re)building, maintenance and interior design of the stores to the magnify the customer experience in store and support at the same time complies with GV Branding guidelines for our retail banners.
  • Floor plan development: Prepare and present prototypical store design layouts.
  • Collaborate/understand merchandise planning to incorporate their store specific merchandise recommendations into the store design in close collaboration with the Global Retail Concept Manager.
  • Ensuring the quality and compliance of in-store execution in terms of the furniture, lighting, flooring etc. in case of local suppliers.
  • Identifying, qualifying, negotiating, certifying and managing strategic suppliers.
  • The internal communication and the administration of the realized projects achieved commercial and customer benefits and the changes in the Store Concept.
  • Taking care of the relevant reports and management information.
  • The communication to internal and external parties about orders / forecasts.
  • Full-time position with a very international character: from your desk at Schiphol, you will maintain your international contacts and every now and then you will visit these contacts. So, being willing to travel is a must! From Chile to China, from Sweden to Poland, from India to the USA – our stores are everywhere!

Key skills, knowledge and experience

  • At least a bachelor’s degree, preferably in (International) Business / Management / Marketing / Interior Design or Project Management.
  • Some years of working experience in the Retail, preferably with store concept development /customer journeys.
  • Experience with Sketchup + AutoCAD + Basic skills in technical drawings.
  • Experience with managing several projects at the same time.
  • Experience with working with external parties / agencies (e.g., furniture suppliers, flooring suppliers, lighting suppliers, store analytics companies).
  • Strong knowledge of English (written & spoken). Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong influencing skills in a multi-cultural multi-country multi-banner environment.
  • Service / customer-oriented skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong in planning, organizing and structuring.
  • Genuine passion for Design Thinking and Digital Technologies.

Workplace type: Hybrid. We offer the option to continue working 2 days at home and 3 days at the office with a working from home bundle incl. chair and screen etc. provided to support this.
