Global Supply & Locistics Manager, Amsterdam Area

Global SC Operations Director

Main purpose of the role

This role is a highly visible supply chain position that will lead the Global Supply & Logistics Team. This team is responsible to manage the supply of the GV own brands (Exclusive Brands), sourced in the Far East and delivered to the local or regional GV warehouses. Capacity management and strong supplier relationships are fundamental for this role. Additionally the Global Supply & Logistics Manager will drive improvement projects to continuously improve the SC processes.

Responsibilities

The core responsibility of the Global Supply & Logistics Manager will be:

  • Design and implement supplier capacity management processes to smoothen the supply
  • Based on work already done further design the DPL concept (Dedicated Production Lines) to increase quality, reduce leadtime and strengthen the relationship with key suppliers
  • Based on the monthly OpCo Supply Plan, create all the vendor POs in line with capacity management
  • Purchase Order management and follow up with the suppliers (On Time & In Full)
  • Own all Supply Management topics and challenges
  • Own and drive improvement projects to continuously improve the SC processes
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and work closely with them to improve the E2E processes
  • Manage, coach and develop the supply & logistics team (9 FTE)
  • Reduce leadtime from 6 to minimum 3 months
  • Manage the Logistic Service Provider (LSP) chosen to outsource the distribution (Inbound, Warehousing, outbound) to, in terms of implementation, continuous improvements, contracting & service negotiations
  • Responsible on getting and keeping GV warehousing & logistics KPIs on target (OTIF)
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for Supply Chain processes and ways of working, specifically for Supply Management, planning & logistics
  • Incorporate Supply Chain best practises from within and outside of GrandVision
  • Responsible to manage diverse relationships by excellent stakeholder management
  • Support local markets in identifying & driving opportunities to improve the global or local SC

Key Deliverables

  • Design and implement supplier capacity management processes to smoothen the supply, in the first 6 months in the role
  • Have the Supply Management processes under control, accurate and reliable within first 6 months
  • In corporation with the SCLT, reduce leadtime from 6 to minimum 3 months in the first year

Required qualifications/level of education

  • Bachelor or Master degree in supply chain or technical discipline (preferable MSc)
  • 6-10 years of work experience, combination of consultancy & operations preferable
  • Proven team management experience
  • APICS certification preferred

Key skills, knowledge and experience

Collaboration with local & group members is paramount to be successful in this role. And therefore, next to planning, logistics and supply management knowledge, it is critical that a candidate can show an adequate maturity level of people influence and communication techniques within a multicultural environment.

In this role 25% travel is required
