Head of Reward & Operations

Reports to: CHRO

As the Head of Reward & Operations, you will lead the team in GrandVision responsible for establishing the philosophy, guidelines and processes for reward (for executive & senior management roles) & the execution of HR operations for these and all other HR processes, for all roles based in the HQ in Netherlands.

Your key accountabilities are:

  • Defining global reward & recognition programs for executives and senior management
  • Supporting CHRO and the Management Board with the preparation of all Supervisory Board, Remuneration and Nomination Committee materials
  • Play a leading role in defining & managing approach and framework in order to align individual effort with company financial & strategic objectives (ie. for objective and key result cascading)
  • Define & embed performance management process for senior management, creating a culture of regular feedback on objectives.
  • Partner with talent management to integrate and simplify performance and development process
  • Monitor P&C budgets & provide support to OPCO’s, providing input to Finance for budgeting process
  • Manage the HR Operations team which services approximately 300 employees within the HQ population and for the top 200 senior management roles. Responsibilities include, amongst others, onboarding, employment documentation, joiner/leaver processes, benefits administration, payroll, pension, general service desk, handbooks, policies. Drive continuous improvement of processes while seeking efficiencies in process automation
  • Involvement in strategic projects such as acquisition integration: following the intended acquisition of GrandVision by EssilorLuxottica, this role will have an important role in future integration work.


Education & Formal Requirements

  • 10+ years’ of experience in HR Operational role or equivalent which includes a minimum of 5 years’ experience in leading business transformation / big changes / process improvement.
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing diverse staff in a highly dynamic and international environment.
  • Masters degree, preferably in business or economics


  • Experience with various problem-solving methodologies
  • Strong IT skill set with an advanced level of Excel & good presentation skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proven track record of growing teams and individuals
  • Good knowledge of rewards and performance practices

Knowledge & Technical Skills

  • Strong focus on driving for results.
  • Able to develop solutions to unusual complex problems
  • Financial acumen and ability to develop compelling analyses, proposals, and business cases to different stakeholders

  • Excellent communication & relationship management skills
