Internship Business Control

The Group Business Control Department is responsible for finance business partnering, management reporting & dashboarding, forecasting, decision support and control over the P&L for all activities in the Head Office.

Reports to

Head of Group Business Control

Main purpose of the role

The intern is part of the Business Control team (±7 Controllers) and reports directly to the Head of Group Business Control. The goal of the internship is to give the candidate the opportunity to experience what it is like to work as a Junior Business Controller in a dynamic and international retail business environment. Within the Group Business Control team, you will be assisting the Business Controller in overhead controlling, business partnering for all Head Office Departments including IT, HR, Finance and Supply Chain, etc.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support in overhead controlling activities for various head office departments
  • Support in building Capex control model
  • Assist in monthly department P&L analysis supporting management review
  • Assist in producing ad-hoc analysis supporting management decisions
  • Participate in transfer pricing calculation and documentations

Required qualifications/level of education

  • Bachelor, or master’s degree, preferably specializing in Business Administration or Accounting and Control

Core competencies/ Personal attributes

  • Positive, customer first and can-do attitude
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Proactive and strong team player, willingness to learn

Key skills, knowledge and experience

  • Good knowledge of Excel, including experience in using excel as a tool for financial analysis and reporting
  • Preferably experience/ knowledge of SAP
  • Fluent in English, verbally and in writing
