Internal Auditor, Schiphol, Amsterdam area

In this role you will work in an international, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. In your position you will be an important sparring partner for corporate, regional, and local management and will have a variety of responsibilities. Your main focus will be on internal audit by taking a leading function to multi-sourced teams. Consequently, it is expected that besides your auditing responsibilities you are able to act as a business partner and drive continuous improvement of internal controls. It will be expected that you will develop yourself within GrandVision and are internationally mobile in order to successfully execute this role.

The ideal candidate has a finished Post-Master degree in Accounting or Audit, at least 5 years of working experience either within the Big 4 or in internal audit and the right drive to make a career within GrandVision.

Group Manager Internal Audit

Main purpose of the role


  • Acting as an independent and professional sparring partner and lead or execute primarily operational focused audits;
  • Actively participate within the internal audit department projects and support in executing the found results;
  • Actively liaise with local management, operations, and our co-souring partner in order to contribute in the annual preparation of the annual audit plan and related planning of audits;
  • Report and advise management with audit recommendations to improve organizational resilience, and perform monitoring on management’s follow up;
  • Contribute to quarterly management reporting;
  • Outside of specific audits identify relevant evolvements and themes for either management or the audit plan;
  • Proactively contribute to the set-up and improvement of various processes and the further professionalization of the audit department and internal control environment of the company;
  • Support on Projects (e.g. automatization of processes, formalizing controls, embedding automated controls).

Required qualifications/level of education

  • Finished (or almost finished) Post-Master degree in Accounting/Audit (CPA/RA, CIA/RO or CISA/RE).

Core competencies/ Personal attributes

  • At least 5 years of audit work experience either in Big 4 or internal audit;
  • Strong understanding of internal audit methodologies;
  • Knowledge of and experience in Audit Management Systems;
  • Highly adaptable to new environments;
  • High level of energy and ambition to realize a positive impact;
  • Positive, customer first, can-do attitude;
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills;
  • Fluent in written and spoken English; multiple language ability an advantage;
  • Affinity with an international environment and willingness to travel (expectedly 50%).
