As a Desktop Support Engineer, you will provide technical assistance to approximately 350 employees in our Global Headquarters. Every interaction is unique… so, every day is different. You will help stakeholders across all levels install, upgrade and troubleshoot hardware and software systems. You will also act as the link between GrandVision and external parties who will provide the necessary support, and be responsible for supplying newcomers with hardware and guiding them through the company’s log in system.

This role is part of the Service Delivery team – a team that is currently expanding its scope to become even more internationally focused.

Responsibilities

  • Address user tickets (within SLA) regarding hardware, software and networking
  • Walk customers through installing applications and computer peripherals
  • Ask targeted questions to diagnose problems
  • Guide users with simple, step-by-step instructions
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting
  • Test alternative pathways until you resolve an issue
  • Customize desktop applications to meet user needs
  • Record technical issues and solutions in logs
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
  • Follow up with clients to ensure their systems are functional
  • Report customer feedback and potential product requests
  • Help create technical documentation and manuals
  • IT Onboarding

Key skills, knowledge and experience

  • MBO (or higher) in Computer Science or relevant field
  • Preferably 3 years’ experience as a Desktop Support Engineer or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with Windows 10 and Mac OS environments
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft product suite (O365/M365, Windows10, Defender, InTune)
  • Understanding of cloud (Azure)
  • Experience with ServiceNow
  • Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions
  • Ability to clearly communicate with wide spectrum of users
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
