Due to expansion we are now looking for a Manufacturing Execution System MES Solution Analyst.

It is an exciting time to join GrandVision as we plan to roll out solutions to other locations and deal with lots of change requests. You will be integral in shaping new solutions as part of a very international team.

Responsibilities

The solution analyst for manufacturing execution system technology (MES) owns the IT solutions for the business process domain covering mass cutting, edging and assembly of spectacle lenses into frames, as performed in regional fulfilment centres of Grandvision. Capabilities and processes around manufacturing operations have been designed and are being deployed globally as part of a strategic program within the company. Based on Grandvision’s best practices, a MES solution has been developed which integrates equipment with orders raised in the global SAP ERP suite.

The application support of SAP ERP and MES applications have been outsourced to 3rd parties. The solution analyst plays a critical role in interpreting business needs into changes in the solution architecture for manufacturing.

The main technology components underpinning these manufacturing execution processes are SAP ECC (PP module), SAP EWM and a custom developed MES application (using Java and C#/Beckhoff (PLC)).

• Identify, understand and document new requirements, design IT solutions accordingly to support the manufacturing process including:
• Production order management
• Automation of routing, lens cutting and edging processes
• Error analysis, handling, and automation
• Optimizing application robustness
• Evaluate business problem statements, analyse, articulate and lead in end to end solution build, testing and training
• Own the solution architecture for production execution, from planning in SAP PP to execution in MES, the enabling integration with the SAP ERP landscape (ECC, EWM) and the functional specifications and configurations of the involved solutions
• Work closely with stakeholders involving the IT partner supporting the MES application and IT support engineers and business operation experts (key users) in the fulfilment centres
• Develop the competency in the domain, by establishing active knowledge management and international collaboration between business users

Key skills, knowledge and experience

Core competencies/ Personal attributes

• 3+ years of experience in the domain of manufacturing execution
• Lean Manufacturing (PER??)
• Experience includes at least one full implementation cycle of a manufacturing execution system, with activities in business and system analysis
• Problem and root-cause analysis
  • Understanding of the integration and dependencies of manufacturing and warehouse operations, equipment, and solutions
  • Fluent in English
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Other languages are an advantage.
