As a Procurement Operations Manager, you will be the bridge between GrandVision’s suppliers and operating countries focusing on Non-Exclusive Brands and Sunglasses. You will organize and coordinate a variety of projects with approx. 35 suppliers and 30 operating countries to manage conditions in contracts, handle disputes, review performance, and negotiate terms. The initial focus of the Procurement Operations Manager is managing the relationship with our suppliers (prepare and organize supplier business reviews together with other GrandVision’s stakeholders, monitor and act on supplier performance management) and execute operational tasks; however, you will also support the development of the procurement strategy and be responsible for contract management initiatives, capture cost savings and create added business value for GrandVision.

This is a highly interactive and flexible role, in which you will not only work closely with suppliers but also with stakeholders across all levels in the organization - from the CEO to account management, and where you shape your job as you go.

  • Business partnering for key stakeholders for supplier-related activities and the first level of escalation for the organization in case of disputes with suppliers.
  • Responsible for the compliance to ISO 13485 (QMS) for supplier selection and evaluation on a risk-based approach via execution of the standard operating procedures and work-instructions, maintaining the repository for the certifications, keeping the approved supplier list up to date.
  • Builds and maintains a strong network within the organization as well as in the optical market and is seen as a reliable business partner in the respective area.
  • Provide input to the continuous value creation process by identifying opportunities leading to optimized cost, increased quality, and shorter lead-times. And ensures capturing the benefits via strong project management showcasing broad knowledge and experience.
  • Support the development of the Global Sourcing & Procurement Strategy. Ensuring the optimal mix of suppliers, volume allocation management, production process optimization to ensure supply, reduce cost and guarantee quality.
  • Collaborate on the implementation of the strategy ensuring onboarding of key stakeholders via fact-based discussions and by leading and executing tactical projects.
  • Responsible for the contract management being contract negotiation, renewal, and closure.

Key skills, knowledge and experience

  • Preferably Bachelor’s degree ideally in a business-related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in similar roles.
  • Experience working in an international company environment, desirably in Retail or FMCG.
  • Advanced skills and knowledge on Sourcing, Supplier Relationship Management and Contract Management or broader management experience across several functional areas.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and BI Software.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP is a plus.
  • Ability to convince internal and external parties to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches. And to collaborate cross-functionally, identify challenges and significantly improve, change, or adapt existing methods.
  • Strong knowledge of English (written & spoken).
  • Amazing organizer with strong communications skills.
  • Highly adaptable to new environments; with a natural ability to embrace learning and develop through experience.
  • High level of energy and ambition to realise a positive impact.
  • Positive, customer first, ‘can do’ attitude.
