Job Title

Product Owner

Main purpose of the role

As Product Owner within GrandVision, you are responsible and co-owning a product stream with other Product Owner(s). For this role, the scope is that you manage a Development Backlog and scrum team for an in-store Global Point of Sale program for the GrandVision Group.

Within the program you will be the linking pin between the business and the development team(s) and therefore you will be steering building of functionality and prioritizing product backlog for a Scrum Team based on business value.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities and tasks:

  • Manage a multidisciplinary team to deliver customer and -employee journeys and corresponding business functionality for our retail stores.
  • Keep customers, stakeholders, and the wider business audience informed about the status and the progress.
  • Work closely with local or global product management/business teams to create and maintain a product backlog and help deliver business value towards the end consumer or employees.
  • Managing the backlog (ToDo list) and its refinement towards epics (requirements), features (system functions) and user stories (business functions) by the team.
  • Prioritizing the backlog and team efforts on a day-to-day basis.
  • Optimizing the value of the work the Scrum (software development) team performs.
  • Ensuring that the list with requirements is visible, transparent, and clear to all, and shows what the Scrum Team will work on next.
  • Ensuring the Scrum Team understands items in the requirements list to the level needed.
  • Analyse, evaluate, and overcome team risks.
  • Keep up with agile/scrum best practices and trends.

Required qualifications/level of education

  • Bachelor or University Degree.

Key skills, knowledge and experience

  • Strong knowledge of optical retail.
  • 2 – 5 years’ experience as a product owner or same sort of role with the same responsibility within a large organization; managing one or multiple software projects and/or products.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in software management software e.g. Atlassian Confluence and/or Jira comparable products.
  • Proven knowledge or certification of Agile methodologies.
  • Proficient in English written and spoken.
