As Program Director, you are responsible for delivering, implementing, running and enhancing the new GrandVision Group store application LeanPOS. You will steer the project team of 30 to 40 FTE with internal and external ICT experts and Subject Matter Experts (SME’s). You are responsible for managing the overall project budget, which is around €7. Mio in 2021 for delivering the full scope software in 2021. LeanPOS is a key building block of the Forward GrandVision transformation.

You will manage relationships and align planning with all relevant stakeholders: program managers of the other projects of the transformation (RFH2, Rubik, CLS), Heads of other GVHQ departments (digital, supply chain & manufacturing, business transformation) and stakeholders in operating countries with a strong focus on pilot country Portugal.

You manage LeanPOS in an agile way, using best-in-class agile methods and best-in-class IT architecture principles like Microservices. You understand optical retail business processes and based on this knowledge, you are able to direct the project on process as well as on content level.

Responsibilities

  • Aligning on the vision (end goal, one year, 5 years and beyond) and roadmap (how to achieve it, quarter per-quarter) on behalf of the team and its stakeholders.
  • Develops and manages budget of the program and is accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives.
  • Leads alignment with all stakeholders around the project: program managers, department heads, operating countries and implementation partners.
  • Acts as advocate for the team’s customers and stakeholders and keeps track of and initiates meetings to inform customers, stakeholders, and the wider business audience.
  • Leads project organization and defines (agile) ways-of-working.
  • Leads in defining the LeanPOS application Architecture.
  • Leads in defining and building the software development workbench including all tooling
  • Steers change management within own stores, franchise stores, OpCo HQ, OpCo and Group IT, external partners.
  • Builds a sustainable organisation and processes to maintain and develop LeanPOS
  • Analyses, evaluates, and overcomes program risks and issues.
  • Works with the mixed team consisting of Product Owners, Frontend Developers, Backend Developers, UX designers and DevOps/SRE Engineers to translate Business requirements and needs into development requirements.
  • Owns the prioritization, backlog and customer ‘feedback loop’ processes.
  • Measures and reports the team’s progress and impact to the business in a transparent and effective way. This includes defining key business and product success metrics, tracking them, and delivering upon them.
  • Uses objective data/information and key results to define team priorities and decision making.

Key skills, knowledge and experience

  • Bachelor or master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or other IT related education
  • 7-10 years’ experience as a program manager or similar role with the same responsibility within a large organization; managing one or multiple software projects and/or programs
  • (C-level) Stakeholder management skills
  • Strong and working knowledge of MS Office Software (e.g., Excel, Project, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proficient in English, written and spoken
  • Proven knowledge or certification of Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of the latest trends in software development (e.g., Microservices, Headless, RESTful API’s etc.)
  • Knowledge / experience with software integration
  • Knowledge of optical retail processes is preferred
