Project manager

Reports to

VP Business Development and Transformation

Main purpose of the role

Deliver GV ambition to create a strong global product platform across all product categories

BD&T junior project manager is accountable to steer and deliver successfully business project(s) related to Forward transformation strategy, with authority and responsibility of its project(s) sponsor, coordinating a cross-functional team at GV HQ and OpCo level.

BD&T junior project manager will be specifically responsible of:

1. Defining objectives, scope and plan of his/her project(s)

  • Defining detailed project objectives and scope based on its project brief
  • Managing stakeholder’s alignment, explaining the purpose and how its project(s) support GV overall strategy
  • Proposing a methodology to reach objectives, planning activities and their sequence
  • Developing a Budget and resources mobilization plan

2. Leads and manage the project team with authority and responsibility of its project(s) sponsor and collaborative steering committee

  • Monitoring overall progress and milestones, project plan and production of required deliverables
  • building consensus among stakeholders and facilitating the decision-making process with a crisp and synthetic assessment of possible options
  • Developing knowledge and ownership of functional requirements to steer project towards value driven outcome
  • Proposing proactively resolution path to any content or timeline issues
  • Managing project risks, including the development of contingency plans
  • Monitoring use of resources, initiating corrective action where necessary

3. Work together with functional teams as well as GV change network to implement the changes

  • Monitoring effectiveness of the overall change management plan
  • Coordinating functional teams and GV change network in delivering the change plan (communication, training, Mgt team ownership, …)
  • Piloting along the journey to ensure value realization

Key performance indicators

  • Achievement of GV Forward objectives related to the global products platform:
  • Assortment freshness
  • Global Catalog Compliance
  • Share of EB

Required qualifications/level of education

  • Business school master’s degree / engineer school master’s degree
  • 3-4 years experience in Retail industry in Planning or Category Management

Core competencies/ Personal attributes

  • Candidate should demonstrate strong communication and negotiation skills to drive management decisions.
  • Candidate should prove strong problem-solving ability, critical thinking and fast learning skills, as well as analytical mindset.
  • Candidate should be highly agile, with a natural ability to embrace learning and develop through experience. High level of energy and ambition to realise a positive impact.
  • Finally, Project manager must have a combination of skills including an ability to ask penetrating questions, detect unstated assumptions and resolve conflicts, as well as more general management skills.
  • Positive, customer first, can do attitude.

Key skills, knowledge and experience

  • 3-4 years’ experience in Consulting or Retail industry in Planning/ Category Management functions
  • Proven experience in project management
  • Proven experience in planning and/or category management
  • Strong knowledge of English (written & spoken)

Future potential/ learning agility/ growth opportunities

Candidate could evolve into a MT-1 level of PVC (Product Value Chain function) at HQ or OpCo level
