Job Title

SAP PP Solutions Analyst

Reports to

Lead Consultant Supply Chain

Main purpose of the role

The Solution Analyst is expected to deliver IT (SAP) expertise in the area of production planning and execution, implement and maintain SAP in Production Planning domain and its integration points and deliver support.

The analyst is responsible to safeguard the quality and robustness of solutions in his/her area and owns the IT solutions for the business process domain covered production planning and execution related activities as performed in regional fulfilment centres of Grandvision.

Capabilities and processes around manufacturing operations have been designed and are being deployed globally as part of a strategic program within the company. Based on Grandvision’s best practices, a MES solution has been developed which integrates equipment with orders raised in the global SAP ERP suite in integration into SAP PP.


  • Own the solution architecture for production planning and execution, from planning in SAP PP to execution in MES, the enabling integration with the SAP ERP landscape (ECC, EWM) and the functional specifications and configurations of the involved solutions
  • Develop the competency in the domain, by establishing active knowledge management and international collaboration between business users
  • Responsible to liaise with the business area experts and maintain the relationship
  • Advise on the possibilities in SAP PP and MES
  • Assess business needs and requirements raised in the change management process
  • Identify opportunities for improvements in existing applications, processes and procedures
  • Perform fit gap analysis, solution design and quality assessments in new deployments of template solutions
  • Deliver functional specifications during projects and in the change management process
  • Drive and assess quality of delivered solutions by external partners, including the offshore application support team
  • Educate and empower business area experts with the required knowledge and skills
  • Monitor quality of delivery in the change management process to ensure stable systems

Required qualifications/level of education

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT / relevant subject

Key skills, knowledge and experience

  • 5+ years of experience in the domain of SAP Production Planning and Execution
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience includes at least one full implementation cycle of a manufacturing execution system, with activities in business and system analysis
  • Understanding of the integration and dependencies of manufacturing and warehouse operations
  • Solid functional knowledge of production planning and execution process including production planning and scheduling, capacity evaluation and levelling, production staging, master data related BOM and routings etc.
  • Experience in features of (1) Manufacturing execution via SAP ECC PP and MES, (2) Production Costing via CO-PC and (3) Production Stating via EWM
  • Integration into SD and MM
  • Agile practitioner, usage of Jira/ Confluence suite
  • Problem and root-cause analysis
  • Experience in abap development and usage of SAP integration techniques like Idoc and abap proxy is an advantage
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving techniques
  • Willing to travel internationally (app. 20%)
