Your responsibilities as Senior Infrastructure Engineer

As our Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the proactive monitoring and performance improvement of our current infrastructure. You will be responsible for transferring the data centers into the cloud (Microsoft Azure) in a global scope. Another focus for you will be the store blueprint project we are supporting as a team; we are changing to a new solution for all retail stores, building new hardware applications (POS). You will also maintain a good working knowledge of our current global infrastructure and future trends. Furthermore, your responsibilities include:

  • Create and maintain systems documentation and infrastructure topology.
  • Provide support and enhancement to existing infrastructure, schedule and perform maintenance on IT systems.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and testing of disaster recovery procedures.
  • Support the department in implementing ITIL best practice procedure in relation to all aspects of change and configuration management.
  • Maintain and monitor all security, and computer systems to meet the organization's current and future requirements.
  • Responsible for management, maintenance and architecture of storage, virtualized environment, servers, network devices, and productivity tools.
  • Monitor systems and identify performance issues proactively. Own escalated problems and escalate to external vendors as required.
  • Monitor service delivery compliance to budget, quality standards and customer and business stakeholder requirements.
  • Cater to doing infrastructure coordination related to design and setup activities at different stages of a project.
  • Professionally represent the infrastructure team as a technical consultant on projects.
  • Maintain the necessary project plans and documentation of all system builds and modifications.
  • Migrate on-prem servers to cloud providers and migration of services to global solutions.
  • Offer support and advice for decentralized IT departments in other countries.
  • Maintain good working relationships with all service providers and vendor to ensure that services received meet expected requirements of contract.

Your profile:

We are looking for a seasoned Infrastructure Engineer. You possess strong analytical skills, are a problem solver and are willing to take the steering wheel. Furthermore, you meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 7-10 years’ recent experience in Microsoft cloud, like Azure, having physical knowledge & experience in infrastructure.
  • Experience in managing multi domain’s Active Directory infrastructure for the Enterprise, experience with IT infrastructure services and a strong background in Windows Server 2008-2016 technologies.
  • Ability to identify incident trends in order to elevate incidents in accordance with standard protocols.
  • Able to gather relevant information systematically to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Experience with migrations to cloud providers and with enterprise antivirus solutions.
  • Experience with incident ticketing systems, workstation management systems and desktop imaging.
  • Proven track record with hosted desktop and published applications using Remote Desktop Services and Application Virtualization.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, fluent in English.
